Follies du Valle is a fun and entertaining theatrical extravaganza that takes place every other year at the Lincoln Theater Napa Valley in Yountville. Featuring a cast of talented amateur entertainers from around Napa Valley and staffed entirely by community volunteers, Follies is an exciting and much-anticipated event.
Follies is also an important fundraiser that has supported Lincoln Theater and performing arts in the valley since 1997. The first Follies productions raised money for the renovation of Lincoln Theater. After the theater reopened its doors in 2005, Follies du Valle continued its support by donating all proceeds from Follies Takes the Stage 2006 and Follies Eat Your Heart Out 2008 to Lincoln Theater. Follies 2010: It’s About Time continues the tradition with proceeds going directly to scholarships for Lincoln Theater Napa Valley Youth Performing Arts Program.
Once again it is time to take the stage at Lincoln Theater with Follies du Valle: It’s About Time. Featuring musical numbers organized around a theme of time, this year’s Follies with performances March 5-7, 2010, is indeed right on time!
With budget cuts currently forcing many schools to eliminate their arts programs, Follies is pleased to announce that all proceeds from Follies 2010 will go directly to student scholarships for Lincoln Theater’s Youth Performing Arts Program. Staffed by professional performers from around the country, this outstanding studio workshop program provides an opportunity for our local children to explore and develop their talents, enhance their self-esteem and experience working with others as part of a team. The arts are such an important part of our lives and communities and Follies is proud to offer this opportunity to our local children. A fully-staged version of “Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” will be performed in June 2010, the culmination of the Youth Performing Arts Program.
As we prepare to bring this community-centered and fun-filled production to Lincoln Theater, we invite you to join the Follies family as a Volunteer, Sponsor or Onstage Performer.
Auditions will be held on Wednesday, January 6 and Thursday, January 7 from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm at Lincoln Theater. Everyone is welcome to audition. No experience is necessary and children from the age of 6 to 94 may participate. For those interested in being a featured Follies performers please prepare a song and bring music to the audition.
